Here I am, the beginning of summer, and I feel I need to get back to the basics of yoga.
I've been teaching for nearly a year now and I also happen to teach a basics class at this lovely studio.
So it might sound absurd that a yoga teacher, who teaches eager yogis the basics of yoga, would herself need spend more time on the basics of her own practice.
Why do I need to get back to the basics? I think I have become lazy in my personal practice - which for those of you who know me, that might also sound strange (I tend toward wanting to know everything I can about the alignment of the pose). I haven't been as attuned to my own practice on the mat as I would like to be, and I haven't been making the time I want to be making for my own practice.
So I've gotten a couple of great new DVDs from some wonderful women, Sean Corne and Maya Fiennes, and have been finding myself back on my mat much more often.
And I'm learning so much - which is so exciting and inspiring!
Back to the Basics.
